The Philosophy

At Healing Bear Collective, the philosophy centers around creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their personal growth journey. I believe in the power of self-expression and self-discovery, and our approach is rooted in guiding our clients to achieve holistic wellness in mind, heart, body, and soul. The aim is to help individuals cultivate mindfulness, find balance, and unleash their inner potential.

Everyone has a unique story waiting to be shared. As a coach, it is my responsibility to guide and support individuals in discovering their authentic voice. I help them harness their thoughts and feelings, empowering them to express themselves fully and portray their true selves to the world. Together we create an environment where their stories can flourish.

Many coaches tend to keep their services and client benefits hidden from view. Understanding both the potential and limitations of coaching is vital, as it empowers prospective clients to make informed decisions.

Coach Robert Bellarn works primarily, but not exclusively, with men 21+ from the GBTQ+, Bear, and Nudist/Naturist communities.

Reminder: These services are not a replacement for a medical professional. Seek a medical professional accordingly.

Life Learning and Credentials

Life coaching is an open field, so the experience and accreditations of coaches can differ greatly. It’s important to evaluate a coach’s qualifications and training before choosing to work with them. I graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in history and business/marketing. After graduation, I worked in the public sector, where I developed skills such as customer service, organization, problem-solving, and payment processing. Additionally, I contributed to my father’s passion project—a magazine dedicated to Drum Corps (competitive marching music).

Working with my father taught me about various aspects of running a magazine, including distribution, writing, proofreading, editing, website development, creating master recordings of music and reviews, customer outreach, and concession sales. These experiences provided me with valuable hands-on knowledge in managing a small hobby business.

I also developed strong communication skills. In the 1990s, I joined a community organization and published a local newsletter, handling everything from writing and mailing to distribution and community outreach. In 2003, I co-hosted an internet radio show with a friend, where we played music and engaged in talk segments. Public speaking has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve discovered that storytelling is one of my strengths.

Since then, I’ve expanded my communication skills further. I am now a podcaster and host Zoom shows on a variety of topics, including storytelling, coaching, comedy, and informational content—especially during the pandemic.

On a personal level, I’ve faced and overcome significant challenges, including family and medical issues. Growing up in a household that was both dysfunctional and loving, I dealt with tension and shyness at a young age. In school, I experienced being judged and bullied for being overweight from other kids. I’ve also dealt with anxiety disorder, diabetes, and even temporary blindness, which lasted three weeks.

In 2012, I embraced social nudism, which transformed my perspective on self-love, body acceptance and orientation. This experience helped me connect with others, and develop greater empathy and understanding. As I say, worthy to love and to be loved.

These life experiences and skills have shaped me into a coach who not only supports others but also continues to grow personally. I believe that a good coach is someone who can use their own life journey to inspire and guide others.
